BlackGang Chine

Dinosaur Isle

Dinosaur Isle is Britain’s first purpose built dinosaur museum and visitor attraction; based in Sandown on the Isle of Wight. For nearly a century the Museum of Isle of Wight Geology, above Sandown Library, housed the Island’s geology and fossil collections.  On August 10th 2001 this changed with the opening of Dinosaur Isle, a purpose built interactive museum which replaced the old museum.

Owl And Monkey Haven

Monkey Haven is a rescue centre and sanctuary for primates and birds of prey who are in desperate need of care and attention. Opened in April 2010, it continues to expand and develop, so so as to re-home and rehabilitate more and more animals in need of care.

Set in 88 acres of beautiful woodland and countryside on the Arreton Downs the park offers activities and attractions for all ages with space to run free and let off steam or to chill out and enjoy at leisure…. its no wonder so many Island visitors make a bee-line for Robin Hill….

The Isle Of Wight Zoo

The Isle of Wight Zoo is a family-run zoo with a special interest in tigers and lemurs. The zoo was built within the ruins of a Victorian Fort built to guard Sandown’s coast, which means we face one of the Isle of Wight’s nicest beaches.

The Needles Land Mark Attraction

As soon as you think about the Isle of Wight, the iconic image of the world famous Needles chairlift immediately springs to mind, transporting guests from the cliff-top above Alum Bay down to the beach below. So, grab a bird’s eye view of the multi-coloured sand cliffs of Alum Bay and the stunning turquoise waters that stretch as far as the eye can see.

WightLink

We are the main link between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. Every year, we carry over 4.8 million passengers, making us one of the UK’s largest domestic ferry operators. We provide Island residents with an easy and frequent service to the mainland, as well as giving millions of holidaymakers a taste of Island life.

Red Funnel

Red Funnel is the original Isle of Wight ferry company with a history spanning over 153 years in its present form but with roots stretching back as far as 1820. Much has changed since Red Funnel’s paddle steamers ran excursions from Southampton as far as Brighton, Cherbourg and Torquay but we are still just as passionate about delivering great customer service and providing value for money.

HoverTravel

Hovertravel is the world’s longest running commercial hovercraft service and is the only scheduled passenger hovercraft service in the Europe. Hovertravel offers the fastest way to cross the Solent between Southsea, Portsmouth and Ryde, Isle of Wight. Hovertravel operate two hovercraft with a frequent service (plus additional services at commuter times) and the journey time is just under 10 minutes.

Calbourne Water Mill & Rural Museum.

You could say that Calbourne Water Mill has seen a few changes … this isn’t exactly surprising when you consider that it has been here for around 1,000 years! It was first mentioned in the Domesday Book A.D.1086, which means that it is the original Isle of Wight attraction!

The Garlic Farm

The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight, the UK’s premier grower of garlic and source of all things garlic.

The Needles Battery

A coastal battery built in 1862 to defend the Solent from attacks by the French. Owned by the National Trust.

Yarmouth Harbour

Town and sailing facilities in this yachting and ferry port. Events, map, general information, harbour commissioners, notice board, and guide.

Lavender Farm

The Lavender at Staplehurst Grange is grown on our own farm and the Lavender oil is distilled to produce our Lavender products. The farm is open to the public all year round and we would love you to visit have a look round and see the lavender being distilled in the distillation barn at the end of July.

Rosemary’s Vineyard
